My plans keep God laughing.
The path God chooses for us is not often clear or easy, but it is infinitely more rewarding than any life we would have chosen for ourselves. Over the course of my life, I have had the fortune to be a biologist, a nurse, a teacher, and now an author and illustrator. I have always had a passion for art, but over the past 10 years it has become my calling. If someone had told me in 2012 that I would write and illustrate a children’s book about faith, I would have scoffingly laughed at the absurdity. Now however, despite all that I have endured, I feel only gratitude for what has happened.
I don’t know where God’s plan will lead me next, but I have gained enough experience to put my trust in Him. I am able to do this because: I wasn’t an artist, and then He made me an artist; I wasn’t a writer, and yet I have written a book; I once had no faith, but today it guides my entire life. I no longer look up into the sky with skepticism and say, “This is impossible!” Instead, I now look up into the sky and say, “Ok, how do I begin?”
